2017


The paintings "West Coast Pier" and "Sacramento River #3" were selected for the Acrylicworks 5 - Bold Values Contest.  The paintings will be "Featured in a Northern Lights hardbound book showcasing the best in contemporary acrylic painting".  The book will be published in May 2018.


Magazine Cover - The painting "Colorful Underlight, American River" was selected for the cover of the June 2017 issue of Inside Publications.


Magazine Cover - The painting "Road Cut, Yolo Causeway" was selected for the cover of the May 2017 issue of Inside Publications.  Included in this issue is the article "Taking a Mulligan: This artist is Inspired by Local Landscapes" by Jessica Laskey.


The painting "Pier 2, Fort Mason SF" was exhibited and sold in the 2017 Crocker Art Museum's 39th Annual Art Auction and Exhibit, May 18th to June 3rd, 2017.


Solo Exhibition - "Between the Lines: California Landscapes and Cityscapes" at the Elliott Fouts Gallery in Sacramento, CA, June 3 - 29, 2017.


Featured in the article "At the Water's Edge" in the April issue of the American Art Collector Magazine.  This article focuses on artists who paint Seascapes, Rivers & Lakes, pps 70-74.


Featured in the article "Bold Strokes, Bright Colors - Timothy Mulligan's Affection for the Landscape of his native California is revealed in expressive colors" in The Artist's Magazine, March 2017 issue. pps 40 -47.


Three of my paintings were selected as Finalists in two categories of The Artist's Magazine's 33rd Annual Art Competion. I am included in the Finalists listings in the Jan/Feb issue of The Artist's Magazine p.52.

2016

Selected for the Group Show "Bit of the Best"  at the Shimo Center for the Arts, Oct 7 - Nov 5, 2016. Curated by Moni Van Camp-Kondos. Other artists include: Gregory Kondos, Fred Dalkey, Gerald Walburg, Jerald Silva, Shimo, Pat Mahony, Boyd Gavin, Suzanne Adan, Miles Hermann and Stuart Ratcliff.    



I was invited to the Central Coast Wet Painting Invitational and received an Honorable Mention at the Collector's Gala. The event was held from Sept 29 to Oct 23, 2016 in Paso Robles, CA. Artists included: Kadin Goldberg, Mike Kowalski, Anne Kullaf, Ann Larsen, Sergio Lopez, Kristen Olson, Camille Przewodek, W. Jason Situ, John C. Trainer and Kevin Weckbach.



My painting "Tahoe Blue Shadows" was selected for the exhibit "100 years 100 Artist" at the Sacramento City College, Aug 22 - Sept 30, 2016.  It was used on the cover of the announcement cards for the show.


The painting "Tahoe Blue Shadows" was aquired by the Sacramento City College Art Department for their permanent collection.


My painting, Coastal Rocks, Pacifica, was selected in the 2016 International Artist magazine Challenge #95, Seascapes, Rivers & Lakes, and was published in International Artist magazine #111, October/November 2016 issue.



Three of my paintings were selected as Finalist in two categories of the 2016 The Artist's Magazine's 33rd Annual Art Competition and I will be included in the list of Finalists published in the Jan/Feb 2017 issue.

Selected for Group Show, "Delta Forever"  California State University, Sacramento, Library.  Other artists include: Wayne Thiebaud, Greg Kondos, Fred Dalkey, Ken Waterstreet, Larry Welden, Darrell Forney, Shimo, Melissa Chandon, and others.


Magazine Cover - The painting "I Street Bridge, Sacramento" was on the cover of the March 2016 issue of Inside Publications Magazine.


My exhibit "The Reimagined Landscape" was selected by Victoria Dalkey, Art Correspondent for the Sacramento Bee, and featured in the article "Paintings and Conceptual Works Among Must-Sees".


One of 20 artists selected to exhibit work in the Paso Robles Artsfest  "Signature Exhibition" in Paso Robles, CA, May 26th - June 26th, 2016.  Other artists include: Deladier Almeda, Camille Przewodek, Ruo Li, Jason Situ, Kathy Lemke-Waste, Debra Huse, and others.


The County of Sacramento purchased the paintings "Boy on a Red Bike" and "American River Overpass"  to display in the County Board of Supervisors Office Lobby in Downtown Sacramento.

Exhibited work in the Lines and Colors Show: Celebrating Degas, at the Carnegie Museum in Turlock, CA. This show featured artists who express some of Degas’ formal qualities of art, particularly line and color in their own work. This exhibit ran concurrently with Edgar Degas: The Private Impressionist.
